About Us

Founded in 2008, bobo kids is a luxury interiors shop exclusively for children and teenagers. Located at 29 Elystan Street close to London's Chelsea Green, bobo kids stocks an eclectic mix of modern, vintage and designer homewares for children and babies, including contemporary furniture from European and American designers, art, accessories, furnishings, toys and gifts, many of which are exclusive to the UK.

bobo kids is the brainchild of Julie Hamon who decided to launch her own company after finding it difficult to locate distinctive and unique furniture pieces for her own children. Heavily influenced by her own art background, Julie has sourced an exclusive selection of products for children, resulting in an extensive collection which ranges from cots, bespoke beds, desks, wardrobes and shelving units, through to antique pieces, interesting fabrics, cushions, rugs,  wall stickers, lighting, eco-friendly paints, wallpapers and a huge range of bed linen.

The bobo kids brand was inspired by the French concept Bourgeois-Bohème. Widely used in France to describe a particular lifestyle group, bobo refers to style-conscious consumers who embrace diverse fashion and interior trends to create an individual style which is totally unique to them.

The shop also features exclusive vintage artwork and contemporary photography suitable for children and teenagers, in addition to a collection of exquisite accessories.

Julie Hamon, founder at bobo kids comments: "As I have a passion for interior design and a personal interest in children's furniture, it seemed natural to set up bobo kids. I was particularly motivated by the lack of inspirational furniture available, finding only lifeless, plain white ranges when I came to buy homewares and accessories for my own child. With the bobo kids collection I wanted to offer pieces with a touch more style and by doing so encourage children to become more interested in contemporary interior design, art and fashion. The collection is designed to cultivate young people's tastes, offering everything from modern furniture with adult appeal, to more fun options such as decorative stickers and play rugs. I also want parents to be able to harmonise the look of their child's bedroom with other living spaces, enabling good design to flow throughout the entire home."

bobo kids also offers a full interior design service where clients visiting the Chelsea store will be given a personal, one-on-one meeting to discuss their design requirements from nurseries through to teenage bedrooms. Within 48 hours, a member of the team will visit the client's home to take measurements and photographs of the room. bobo kids will then create a three-dimensional bespoke bedroom design, incorporating pieces from the company's extensive product portfolio.
